About the Author
Charles Odwin, BS,RT, RDMS has been active in ultrasound since 1979 and is a Registered Diagnostic Sonographer. He helped create the local ultrasound society in New York in 1983 and is a past-president of the New York State Society of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers. Mr. Odwin has published multiple articles in ultrasound journals and has received an award for Publishing Excellence from the Journal of Diagnostic Medical Sonography. As an artist he has contributed as a medical illustrator to ultrasound test books. He is an instructor in ultrasound schools and is the primary author of several books and contributing author in others. Mr. Odwin is currently teaching ultrasound to emergency department physicians.

Not recommended if you are trying to LEARN from it!!!

TONS of errors. Especially in the echo and vascular sections. Answers according to the back wouldn't even be an option... Or things like the answer is F but the choices only went up to D... Answer descriptions didn't match correct answer. I guess it's ok if you really know your stuff because you can pick out the mistakes, but for those who are trying to LEARN from it rather than review, I would DEFINITELY NOT recommend this book.

The CD that comes with the book is a must.

The CD that comes with this book by far makes this purchase worth it. There are quizzes in multiple formats that are so helpful. You can burn the CD to as many computers as needed which is convenient. So, make sure the book that you purchase comes with the CD! I used Lange along with Ovel and Edelman for my SPI, AB, and OB/GYN. Passed all three on first attempt. My advice: use multiple sources to study for all registries.

Passed Physics With No Problem... Now Onto My Specialities

What I love about this book is the reviews for each registry are in one book. It provides a clear, simple explanations for each topic. It has many questions for each registry (physics alone has over 600 questions). The book has all the answers listed on a separate page, which is great when you want to quiz yourself (no cheating allowed), and most answers also provide an explanation as to why that is the best choice.

The book also comes with a CD that has additional questions, which gets you used to taking an exam on a computer.

I used this book in additional to Edelman, and passed my physics registry with flying colors.

Even Better Than Expected

This slender little volume surprised me. I purchased it after seeing that it was recommended by Dr. Joel Fuhrman (the author of Eat to Live, a perfect companion to this book). Fuhrman's book explains the hard science behind eating a healthful, fresh, green, vegetarian diet. This book is broader in its scope (hence the reason the two books complement one another so well). The authors persuasively explain the evolutionary reasons why our natural desire for dense foods is out of sync with the modern world. In nature we lived in a condition of scarcity; hence, it was to our advantage to seek out calorically-dense foods and eat as much as we could find. For every day of feast there would likely be many days of famine. This otherwise healthy instict is sabatoged by the modern environment of plenty. Now we merely feast -- all the time! This key insight -- that our biology is ill-equipped to deal with the plentifulness of modern life -- can be applied to other areas of life, too. The book is both scientific and historical, and as a whole very compelling. Every person who cares about making rational decisions with regard to eating and living should read it. This book explains what many other books about diet and health leave unsaid. It filled a lot of gaps in my understanding of healthful living.
One observation: some reviewers have indicated that this book advocates moderation. That is false. Indeed, a whole chapter is dedicated to exploring how the myth of "all things in moderation" is dangerous in the modern world. This book is about thinking before acting and about rationally understanding the motives of our actions so that we may make better decisions.

Ése es de hecho el único fragmento del libro donde hay una aportación personal y una opinión. En el resto del libro se explica la historia de la economía. No se narra, no se relata, no se cuenta. No es una historia novelada ni escrita en primera o tercera persona. Es simplemente la descripción de los hechos desde un punto de vista económico y cómo ha evolucionado. Hay numerosas referencias a eruditos e historiadores, citando fuentes y estudios para apoyar lo descrito.
El libro en mi opinión está más orientado al entorno académico (como libro de consulta, referencia o material de estudio) que al público en general. Aquellos que busquen una historia de la economía contada de manera amena o en forma de novela no llegarán a acabar el libro. Aquéllos que busquen sin embargo un libro detallado, completo y con información contrastada, verán cumplidas sus expectativas.
A mi personalmente me ha enseñado mucho, porque me tomé su lectura como un curso de historia económica a distancia.

About the Author
Mike Smart is the founder and CEO of The Smart Method. In Mike's long career as an IT consultant, Mike specified, designed and delivered IT solutions for large corporations all over the world. In 2002 Mike decided to specialize in IT training and founded The Smart Method. >Mike has personally taught classroom Excel courses to delegates from many of the world's largest companies in England, Europe and America. Mike has run courses for bankers, engineers, accountants, teachers, broadcasters, retailers, insurance brokers, aircraft manufacturers, government departments, on-line gaming companies, telecom workers, oil workers, car manufacturers, power companies... and for many other professions. I also have the Essentials book and it is a GREAT book used in a class. I wanted the Expert version and was initially mislead by blank pages and returned for another copy. Pages are left blank on purpose. Amazon was quick to respond to send another copy but it was not necessary as they were also unaware of the intentional blank pages which the publisher confirmed.

Mike Smart has done it again! The best "teaching" Excel book/series on the market. You can't go wrong with this book. I was the office expert but I was humbled by my lack of skills. Start with his Essential book and move to the Expert. Even if you feel that you are an expert, it is worth the extra time to go through his first book. This is my go to reference when I am stuck with #null/iferror issues. Clear and logical , no tech speak.

I have ordered and read many Excel books and this book ranks tops as it teaches you and helps you learn by letting you practice what you learned. The short lessons serve as reference points for future use. This book is better than taking a live course because you get the more material than the easy examples taught in most seminars. This is a must for anyone who likes Excel and it matches any skill level. I learned so much in the first few lessons that I was tempted to go through the whole book and allow it to refresh my skills.
