Great Resource for Geriatricians, Gastroenterologists and Primary Care Physicians

A comprehensive textbook edited by seasoned authors/physicians in their respective fields, Drs Pitchumoni and Dharmarajan.
Well-thought out with organized topics that are relevant for both primary care physicians and specialists.
Topics related to basic Geriatric Medicine (physiology of aging, comprehensive geriatric assessment) and Gastroenterology (all gastrointestinal, hepatobiliary and pancreatic diseases) are well covered, with focus on manifestations of the diseases in the geriatric population. The management is covered in systematic fashion, in a manner not usual for standard gastroenterology textbooks.
Also included are "bonus" chapters, all relevant to primary care physicians, on drug interactions, pharmacology, nutrition and diet, role of important vitamins (D, B12, folate) and minerals (iron, zinc). Manifestation of GI diseases involving other organs, HIV diseases and psychiatrist's role add more value.
All chapters are written with attention to details, but maintaining focus on the practical aspects, as illustrated by simple key points.
